Apartment Review for San Marco @ Broken Sound - Boca Raton, FL

I am not one to complain at all, and I usually take these reviews with a grain of salt. But, the awful reviews here ARE ALL TRUE. This has got to the worst place I have rented from, and that includes living in university dorms built in the 1930's! First of all, it's a shady area, there's always things being broken into and the gate never works and/or is down. Management is absolutely awful. They have go to be the rudest, most incompetent people I have dealt with. They are always getting new staff, and it amazes me how each new person is even more incompetent than before. Especially Scott, I don't know if he's still working there- but he is the rudest person ever. Management lies through their teeth, if you put in a work order, expect to wait months to have it actually done. They will say, "tomorrow, tomorrow", tomorrow to them means 5 months to everyone else. For example, we had a leak in our toilet- the toilet exploded and water rushed through our ENTIRE apartment. We called management, and they came with towels to make sure mold didn't set in! That was their way of dealing with a flood! Then they said they'd hire a guy to remove the carpet and fix the hole in the wall when the toilet exploded.The guy comes the next day and says that he doesn't have the tools to repair the wall adequately. He says he will be back the next day. He doesn't show up or answer calls after that. We called management thousands of times about the flood (mold setting in, hole in wall, toilet explosion). It took them weeks to even return our phone calls (we always missed office hours because of work, so we couldn't go in ourselves). The guy finally comes 4 months later to fix the hole in the wall! What else? Let's see- we had a tick, flea, ant, and bed bug problem! The bathrooms had mold, and the carpet was dirty. Trash was overflowing. When you move out, they will come up with any excuse to nickle and dime you- they will say your carpet is dirty, they need to charge to replace the entire apartment! They will also say they need to hire a professional cleaning crew to clean up the place! All in all, to move out we had to pay an additional 2000 dollars! Believe me, the place was spotless. THEY ARE THE WORST! I STILL SHUDDER WHEN I THINK OF LIVING THERE!
